How to judge whether the thermostat is normal

The editor here needs to remind everyone that if the thermostat is removed at will and the engine is in a mixed cycle state, the engine will not be able to reach a suitable working temperature in winter, prolonging the cold wear time, and because it cannot reach the best cooling state in summer, And there is high temperature, so it is best not to remove the thermostat at will, so as not to cause unnecessary losses.
Let’s introduce how to judge whether a thermostat is working properly. The method of judging whether the thermostat is faulty is relatively simple: when the engine is running cold, if there is coolant flowing out from the inlet pipe of the upper water chamber of the water tank, it means that the main valve of the thermostat cannot be closed normally. If the temperature of the engine coolant reaches the condition that the main valve of the thermostat is opened, if there is no coolant flowing out from the inlet pipe of the upper water chamber of the water tank, it means that the main valve of the thermostat cannot be opened normally. Repairs were made.
The thermostat can also be checked in the car. The loading inspection method of the thermostat can be divided into two parts:
The first part is the inspection after the engine is running. When the engine starts, open the water filler cap of the radiator to see if the coolant is calm. If it is calm, it indicates that the thermostat is normal; otherwise, it indicates that the thermostat is malfunctioning. Note that at this time, the temperature of the water temperature gauge should be determined under the condition that the main valve of the thermostat is closed, otherwise it will affect the process of judging the thermostat.
The other part waits until the engine water temperature rises and reaches the opening condition of the main valve of the thermostat before checking. At this time, we need to pay attention to the changes of the water temperature gauge. If the coolant temperature rises slowly after the water temperature reaches the condition where the main valve of the thermostat is opened, it means that the thermostat is working normally; If the main valve of the thermostat cannot be opened normally, the thermostat should be replaced or repaired at this time.
Some experienced masters usually open the radiator water filler cap and waterproof switch after the temperature of the coolant reaches the condition for opening the main valve of the thermostat, and feel the temperature of the coolant by hand. If it is hot, it means that the temperature is low. If the water temperature at the water inlet is low, and there is no or little coolant flowing out from the inlet pipe of the upper water chamber of the radiator, it indicates that there is a problem with the main valve of the thermostat, and it should be repaired in time. What needs to be reminded is that this inspection method has certain risks, so it is not recommended to use this method to check the quality of the thermostat when the engine is at high temperature. On the other hand, it is recommended to find a heating container, heat it to the temperature of the thermostat, and open the cycle to judge the opening of the throttle door intuitively!
